Disney brought in the New Year with style: a new look at the upcoming live-action adaptation of Cinderella!

The new teaser trailer more prominently features Helena Bonham Carter as the Fairy Godmother, and a better look at the glass (technically, crystal) slippers. We also get an extended look at the infamous palace scene, where ‘Ella’ leaves her slipper behind, as well as her step sisters trying (and failing) to wear the slipper.

In an interesting new twist on the tale, the wicked stepmother (played by Cate Blanchett) actually discovers Ella’s glass slipper. Apparently this movie has taken inspiration from the 1950 animated version, but also takes liberties with the story to turn up the drama.

The film already looks instantly memorable. The setting and scenery appears to be fit for a fairytale, and the CGI and special effects look dazzling. Also, Cinderella’s blue dress seems to be digitally colored to give it that super bright, blue hue.

Is is just us, or does this movie look better with every new clip? Directed by Kenneth Branagh, and starring Lily James in the titular role, Disney’s Cinderella releases in theatres on March 13, 2015.

What do you think of the new Cinderella trailer? Does it make you more excited to see the film in March?
