First Look: Kristin Chenoweth as Maleficent in Disney's 'Descendants'

Movie over Angelina Jolie, there’s a new Maleficent in town. Kristin Chenoweth will be playing the Disney villainess in the upcoming TV movie, and now, thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have a first look at her awesome and rather quirky version of “The Mistress of All Evil”.

It’s interesting to see a different Maleficent costume and overall look. It deviates from the “standard” Maleficent look, being bright and unlike what we’ve seen in Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent, or the Disney Parks. To be honest, this Maleficent wouldn’t be very out of place in a Power Rangers episode. Still, we’re positive that Kristin Chenoweth will add a dash of fun and pizzazz to a character we already love and admire.

Descendants is an upcoming Disney Channel original movie which is set to premiere in 2015. Directed by High School Musical’s Kenny Ortega, it will star the sons and daughters of famous Disney Heroes and Villains as the “Villain Kids” attempt to fit in with the “Hero Kids” and make a name for themselves. Disney’s Descendants will premiere on Disney Channel in 2015.
