Earlier today, we found out that the official trailer for Walt Disney Animation Studio’s film Frozen would drop at midnight (not sure what time zone) on Weather.com.
What we didn’t know is that we’d also be given a sneak peak today with a our first look fully rendered frames from the film! A total of 5 stills were released on the Weather.com Frozen page, each showing our six main characters: Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Hans, Sven and Olaf. Oodelally! What a day to be a Disney fan!
- Anna & Elsa: Although Disney originally denied that these were the final character designs for Anna and Elsa after the infamous “unofficial” posters were leaked, the sisters’ designs look ultimately unchanged. This still shows Anna attempting to rescue Elsa from Elsa’s icy fortress.
- Sven & Olaf: We get to see Olaf, the misfit talking snowman created by Elsa. Also Sven, the rumored one-antlered reindeer, surfaces with him sporting both of his lovely antlers. These stills may be from a song sequence from the “Olaf Can Skate It” song from the rumored tracklist.
- Kristoff: We do get a better glimpse of Kristoff riding Sven. Before, we had only seen a glimpse of a sulky Kristoff from concept art. But it’s nice to see him looking like a hero, plausibly riding against a storm to save the day!
- Hans: And lastly, we finally get to see what Hans looks like–he’s just as dashing and debonair as we imagined! In this still, he looks to be courting or introducing himself to a lovely Anna.
What do you think of the stills? Which is your favorite? Are you happy with the characters’ final designs? Sound off in the comment below (we know you’re excited to talk about this because we are too)!
Thanks to The Art of Animation and our Twitter followers for the heads up!
