It looks like Mark Andrews, co-director of Brave, is working on an original film for Pixar! Slash Film reports that in an interview with the Scotsman, Andrews says that he is working on another film “written and directed by me”. While he doesn’t say it’s for Pixar, we can safely assume it is. After all, we know what Pixar’s schedule is like for the next 3 years and it looks like they’ll start releasing two movies a year starting on 2015. Since it takes about 4 years to make a Pixar movie, it makes sense that they’re already developing some projects for 2017.
This will be good news to people who say Pixar is doing too many sequels. There are three, possibly four, original movies on the way not counting this one. For comparison, Monsters University and Finding Dory are the only prequels/sequels scheduled for the next 3 years. But just to keep the debate alive, it is worth mentioning that Andrews also discusses the possibilities of a Brave sequel.
