Legendary singer and Grammy winner Celine Dion has revealed that she will be performing a brand new song for Disney’s upcoming Beauty and the Beast live-action remake. The new song, titled ‘How Does A Moment Last Forever,‘ will be featured in the movie, while Dion will be recording the pop version to be played over the end credits.
Celine Dion was a relatively lesser known singer back in 1991 when she was offered to perform the iconic theme song for Disney’s animated classic, with Peabo Bryson. The Oscar-winning song propelled Dion to fame, and established her in the English-speaking world as one of the greatest voices of our generation. It makes perfect sense, therefore, that Dion is on board to record another potential classic for a new legion of fans.
In related news, Ariana Grande and John Legend will be performing the title track, ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ for the soundtrack. The soundtrack of the upcoming film, featuring three new songs written by Alan Menken and Tim Rice, and including all the original Alan Menken-Howard Ashman tunes, is scheduled to be released this March.
While you wait not-so-patiently for the new soundtrack and film, watch the original 1991 ‘Beauty and the Beast’ duet, featuring Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson, below:
Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens and many more A-list stars, hits theatres on March 17, 2017.
