The last time we reported to you about TRON 3, we told you that it would be shooting very soon in Vancouver and that Joseph Kosinski would be back in the director’s chair (with Garrett Hedlund reprising his role as Sam Flynn). Now we have news revealing what may or may not be the title of the film.
A recent tweet from Production Weekly’s Twitter handle (a magazine/research agency servicing the entertainment industry) revealed that the next film in the franchise may be titled TRON: Ascension.
Joseph Kosinski’s TRON: ASCENSION is planning to film in Vancouver from Early-October 2015 thru February 2016. http://t.co/ihBaFAc3O5

The tweet also covers what we already know about the start date for the principal photography (this October in Vancouver). Filming will reportedly be in progress throughout the rest of the year and will continue into 2016, where it will officially wrap up in February. If what Kosinski said about the film’s late 2016 release window is true, then that would give his crew a decent amount of time to work on the film in post-production.
While this news still needs to be taken with a slight grain of salt (at least until Disney puts out an official confirmation), the fact that a title is already being thrown around the web should be enough to convince fans that TRON 3 is actually happening and will soon be arriving to the big screen.
What do you think? Any thoughts on the (proposed) title for TRON 3? Are you looking forward to the film in general?
