In news that will please fans of stop-motion animation as well as fans of Aardman, a sequel to the 2015 film, Shaun the Sheep Movie, will be made! According to Aardman, Shaun the Sheep Movie 2 will be a joint production of Aardman and StudioCanal. It will feature Shaun and the rest of his flock “back for another epic and hilarious journey, in what will be their biggest and most exciting adventure yet.”

Shaun the Sheep Movie made a worldwide gross of $106 million against a $25 million budget which is probably one of the reasons why the sequel is being made. Whilst Shaun the Sheep Movie 2 doesn’t have a release date yet, a pre-production date is set for January 2017. It will be directed by Richard Starzak (Shaun the Sheep, Creature Comforts) and produced by Paul Kewley (Shaun the Sheep Movie).
