Animators from Disney and Warner Bros. have created special segments from movies Frozen and The Lego Movie to feature in the new 2014 Christmas advertisement for Sky Movies, a premium film and TV subscription platform in the UK.
The slick fast-paced commercial sees a typical family decorating their tree when the one and only Kermit the Frog lures them into his world where they turn into Jim Henson-like puppets themselves. Jumping from movie world to movie world, changing from live-action to animated characters, the family meet Spider-Man, Good Cop/Bad Cop from The Lego Movie and even Olaf from Frozen.
Working a total of 5,500 working hours, over 130 animators and crew members came together to help advertise the family movies that will be appearing on Sky Movies this Christmas. Director of Sky Movies, Ian Lewis, expressed that “enjoying movies with the family is a big part of Christmas” and that the team is “very proud that Disney, Warner Bros. and Sony have allowed us to create special scenes with these iconic characters”.
