Disney fans rejoice! We got our hands on three of the very first official pictures from Disney’s upcoming superhero flick, Big Hero 6!
The images (via USA Today) show us Hiro, our main protagonist, and Baymax, his robot. These images are presumably from the upcoming teaser trailer due out later this week. Check the images out below!
First we have a simple shot of Hiro’s prototype Baymax robot. It looks very cute and cuddly, as if it’s made of a giant marshmallow:
Next, Hiro makes a few modifications to the prototype Baymax, making him more fortified:
Finally, Hiro admires the new and improved Baymax (it looks awesome):
First and foremost, the animation style looks very good. It looks modern and fresh, but seems to be very ‘Disney’ in its feel. We’re fans of Hiro’s geeky and rather messy design. He definitely looks like a stereotypical college nerd who could use a haircut. Baymax looks really cool, a very ‘Disney-fied’ version of a fighter robot. It will be interesting to see how its (his?) personality plays out, since it is essentially a “nurse” robot, meaning it is programmed to be compassionate and sweet. We can’t wait to see the anime influence in the movie and how Japanese culture and motifs are incorporated into it. Still no word on the voice cast, though expect it to be revealed soon!
From Walt Disney Animation Studios and based on a Marvel property, Big Hero 6 hits theatres November 7. As always, keep it here with the Rotoscopers for all the Big Hero 6 coverage!
