A few days ago, DreamWorks Animation announced on its Instagram page that an all new Mr. Peabody & Sherman trailer would drop soon. Turns out the trailer wasn’t all that new since it was filled with a lot of shots from earlier trailers, there the new footage gave a better look at the character’s animation, several historic characters and worlds. Also… did Mr. Peabody invent planking?

As with all previous Peabody trailers, this did not disappoint.  We learn bit more Mr. Peabody accomplishments and inventions. For example, did you know Mr. Peabody invented planking, the fist pump, auto tunes and the backside ollie? The use of modern references might be risky, especially since the movie is based on a 1960s cartoon, but they surprisingly work. These pop culture references help to update the film making it modern and fun to enjoy for today’s audiences. But, we’ll see if we say that in five years.

Much like the “Talented Mr. Peabody” clip released earlier this week, this trailer also showcases the film’s great camera angles and the cartoony style. One of my favorite shots was a shot of Mozart and other historic characters playing a Just Dance-type of game in New York; I bet these scenes are going to be hilarious and I can’t wait to see more of this movie.

We also got a new poster via Fandango! This new poster looks a lot like the UK poster, which released a while ago, as it’s set in the streets of New York and most of the characters have the same poses (except for Mr. Peabody, Sherman and Penny). The poster has interesting lighting, which gives us just a taste of what to expect in the final film.

Mr. Peabody & Sherman hits theatres March 7, 2014. Unless you have a time machine like Mr. Peabody, you’re going to have to wait until then to see it.

What is your favorite part of the new ‘Mr. Peabody & Sherman’ trailer and poster?
