As the release of Disney’s Big Hero 6 draws closer, more concept art is starting to surface online.
This new batch of art comes from the a livestream from the ZBrush Summit 2014, where a panel of Disney artists showed off some concept are and CGI models of the Big Hero 6 characters of Hiro and Baymax. Tumblr user TadashiHamada was able to screencap the event, so a big thank you to them.
The first bit of art is from artist Shiyoon Kim, which features concept sketches of our main hero Hiro Hamada. The designs are really simple and striking. It has a bit of an anime vibe, which makes sense since Hiro is Japanese American and lives in a town that is a hybrid of San Francisco and Tokyo. But in these images, we get to see his serious side and a bit of his more laid back side.
There were also two other Hiro concept art shown, but it’s not clear who the artist is. One of the pieces is in color and shows more development of his final character model; the other shows
The summit also showed off the CGI character models and progression of Baymax and Hiro’s design. Check out the photos from the panel below. Big Hero 6 hits theatres November 7, 2014.
