[Listen] Carly Rae Jepsen Performs "Part of Your World"

To help promote Disney’s upcoming re-release of The Little Mermaid on Diamond Edition Blu-ray, pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen has just released her cover of the classic song, “Part of Your World”.

Surprisingly, this rendition isn’t at all cringe-worthy (as most of us expected). It’s sincere, heartfelt and remains true to the original. Sure, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, and personally I think it sounds like she’s singing karaoke over the original instrumental arrangement, but whatever. The Alan Menken-Howard Ashman classic still holds up as one of the greatest moments of the Disney Renaissance, and Carly Rae Jepsen honors that.

Carly’s version of “Part of Your World” will be made available as a music video on the upcoming Blu-ray (out October 1), and will also be featured on the upcoming special edition album The Little Mermaid: Greatest Hits (available September 24)
