Wish granted! Just in time for Aladdin Diamond Edition, the magic-makers who made the film happen in 1992 reunited today on ABC’s Good Morning America.
The one-of-a-kind interview includes conversation with directors Ron Clements and John Musker, composer Alan Menken, and voice actors Scott Weinger (Aladdin speaking), Brad Kane (Aladdin singing), Linda Larkin (Jasmine speaking), Lea Salonga (Jasmine singing), and Jonathan Freeman (Jafar). They talk memories, Robin Williams, legacy, and even give us some impromptu voice performances. If only the interview was longer!
Accompanying the feature when it aired was an exclusive clip from the Blu-ray’s bonuses showing never-before-seen outtakes of Robin Williams as the Genie.
In a special, fortuitous coincidence Julie Andrews happened to be in the GMA studio today as well. Scott Weinger tweeted this once-in-a-lifetime gathering of Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, and Mary Poppins. Talk about Disney magic.
You can check out the entire interview below. The Aladdin Diamond Edition is now available on Disney Movies Anywhere and lands on Blu-ray this Tuesday, October 13. Stay tuned to Rotoscopers for ongoing coverage of this highly anticipated release!
