Looks like the Frozember festivities with Anna, Elsa and the rest of the Frozen gang are coming a little early next year!
Disney just announced that the release date for Frozen 2 has been moved up one week to November 22, 2019. The previous release date was November 27, 2019, the day before Thanksgiving.
The new release date gives the film a little more room to dominate at the box office before the onslaught of Thanksgiving releases. Previously the film was up against the film Queen & Slim, but now with the release coming five days earlier, it will be up against an Untitled Fox/Marvel film. Nothing that our favorite ice queen can’t overcome, right?
The main voice cast is slated to return, including Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell as the iconic Arendellian princesses Anna and Elsa. Earlier this summer, Sterling K. Brown and Evan Rachel Wood were revealed to be in talks to join the cast. Original directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck will also make reprise their roles in the director’s chairs, with screenwriter Allison Schroeder joining Lee to write the script.
This release date bump can only mean all good things for the state of Frozen 2‘s production. Hopefully this means a sneak peak isn’t too far away.
Frozen 2 hits theatres November 22, 2019.
