Van Eaton Galleries, specializing in art & collectibles related to animation, opened a special Disneyland exhibit to the public ahead of the auction later this month. The exhibit is free to the public from August 1st through August 26th, open Wednesdays to Sundays from noon to 8pm, at Westfield Fashion Square in Sherman Oaks, CA.
The exhibit/catalog features a wide range of Disneyland memorabilia from theme park ride vehicles to working animatronics to puppets to concept artwork to classic ride posters and much much more, from major collector and enthusiast Richard Kraft. Each piece in the exhibit will be part of the auction at the end of the month, August 25th & 26th, with some lots starting at $100 and some (like a Haunted Mansion Doom Buggy) starting upwards of $45k.
A miniature model of Disneyland’s Main Street created by Robert Olszewski. Expected to auction at $5,000 to $7,000.
And that’s not the only operational mechanic up for auction from this extensive collection:
There will also be several exciting (separately ticketed) events, including a scavenger hunt and Alan Menken performing in concert.
