Let the Moana hype begin!
Disney has given us a glimpse of the action in the first official clip from the movie. In the clip, Moana (voiced by Auli’i Cravalho) meets the demigod Maui (voiced by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson). Needless to say, their first meeting doesn’t go as smoothly as expected.
The clip hilariously details Moana’s attempts to introduce herself to Maui, and even has a very 2016 reference to tweeting. From the clip, it’s pretty evident that both Moana and Maui are perfectly cast, and is pretty reminiscent of Tangled in the way the heroine threatens the so called ‘hero.’ Needless to say, we think this movie is going to be laugh-out-loud funny.
From Walt Disney Animation Studios, Moana is the newest animated musical from legendary directing duo Ron Clements and John Musker. Starring Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson, Moana sails into theatres on November 23rd.
