‘Wander Over Yonder’ Returns in August for Season 2

In a statement posted to his Tumblr, show creator Craig McCracken announced that the premiere date for Wander Over Yonder season two will be August 3.

In addition to the new season, McCracken also announced that there will be 11 one-minute shorts that will drop every day, Monday through Friday, starting July 20th and leading up to the season two premiere. The shorts will debut on Disney XD, but will also be available on the WATCH Disney XD app and Disney XD’s YouTube channel. McCracken said that, while each short can stand on its own, when put together the 11 cartoons form one full bonus episode.

McCracken also teased the arrival of a new character in season two saying, “We are super excited about this season and can’t wait to introduce Lord Dominator to the fans and the world of Wander over Yonder!”

ET Online also announced some of the stellar voice cast lined up for season two. The guest list runs the gamut with everything from other Disney Channel stars to Academy Award nominees! Here’s a list of everyone we know so far:

  • Jon Hamm (Mad Men)
  • Weird Al Yankovic
  • June Squibb (Nebraska)
  • Noel Wells (SNL)
  • Sabrina Carpenter (Girl Meets World)
  • Calum Worthy (Austin & Ally)
  • Rob Riggle
  • Andy Daly
  • Ken Marino

Wander Over Yonder season two will have 22 half hour episodes. While this would normally mean 44, 11-minute episodes, four of these half hours will actually be full 22-minute episodes that form one long story arc. The 36 remaining episodes will be regular 11-minute shorts that stand alone (but loosely relate to the longer arc).
