Frozen 2 is far from complete, but filmmakers do know one thing: its ending.
Citing a similar story process to the one used to create the original Frozen, co-director Chris Buck gave ABC News a peak into how development is going with the highly anticipated Frozen sequel. Buck says, “We did come up with what we think is a really terrific ending to the sequel.” Continuing, he says about the first film, “We had an interesting ending, and we were always sort of, ‘Let’s go toward that ending of Anna saving Elsa.’ We have our ending now, and that helps us go. We have what we call our ‘true north.'”
Buck says there is plenty of the story left to figure out, but the team continues to work with their established conclusion in mind. He feels their ideas for the ending give the filmmakers confidence to pursue the daunting task of creating a sequel to the #1 animated film of all time.
Frozen 2 was first announced this March. Buck, along with Jennifer Lee, are both back in the directors’ chairs at Walt Disney Animation Studios. A release date has yet to be revealed.
