To coincide with the release of the Shaun the Sheep Movie, Aardman’s well-beloved character Shaun will make appearances as artistic sculptures around London and Bristol for the Shaun in the City trail.
According to Aardman, over 100 five-foot sculptures of Shaun created by artists and celebrities will be placed in iconic tourist spots for fans to discover. The popular company Big Bus Tours London will provide a Leader of the Flock tour so you can be sure not to miss a single sheep.
Creator Nick Park (above) expressed that “The Shaun in the City trail means so much to me. This opportunity to bring an arts trail to life with Gromit’s pal, Shaun the Sheep, is baa-rilliant! Shaun is such a well-loved character with fans all over the world. He will add such color to our streets and I am sure many will flock to the City to be part of the fun”.
Park was previously involved with the Gromit Unleashed trail which raised £3.3 million for Bristol Children’s Hospital. The London trail will take place from Saturday, March 28th, to Monday, May 25th, and the Bristol trail from Monday, July 6th, to Monday, August 31st. After both trails are complete, all designer Shauns will be auctioned to raise money for the Wallace & Gromit Children’s Charity. Big Bus Tours London will also donate £1 from every ticket sold to the charity.
