New-Scooby-Doo-MovieYesterday, it was announced that Warner Brothers is planning to make a live-action Scooby-Doo reboot to appeal to a new generation. Screenwriter, Randall Green, is set to write the script.

This news comes shortly after the death of Casey Kasem, who voiced Shaggy in the original Hanna-Barbera cartoons.

Not much else is known about the reboot, but after the success of the previous Scooby-Doo live-action movies (with the first garnering $268 million and the sequel making $181 million worldwide) this isn’t too surprising, especially since movie companies seem to be on a trend on rebooting almost everything lately, from The Powerpuff Girls to The Lion King

It has been ten years since the first live-action films, which stared Freddie Prinze Jr. as Fred, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Daphne, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, Linda Cardellini as Velma, and Neil Fanning voicing Scooby.

What do you think of this reboot? Are you excited to be able to see Scooby and the rest of Mystery, Inc. on the big screen?
