A decade ago, the first SpongeBob Squarepants movie came out, and now, our favorite anthropomorphic yellow sponge is back on the big screen for his sequel: The SpongeBob Movie: A Sponge Out of Water.
While there is very little known about the plot of SpongeBob’s newest theatrical shenanigans, we can take a guess from the unveiling of the first movie poster that he is going to be leaving his pineapple under the sea behind to take on a 3D world.
I’m still not quite sure how I feel about SpongeBob shedding his 2D skin yet. Personally, I think any sequences that take place on land should look like this:
The TV-voice actors are all set to return: Tom Kenny as SpongeBob, Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick, Rodget Bumpass as Squidward, Clancy Brown as Mr. Krabs, Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy, and Mr. Lawrence as Sheldon. Antonio Banderas is going to play a live-action pirate as well.
