Lana Del Rey To Cover “Once Upon A Dream” For Disney’s ‘Maleficent’

Singer Lana Del Rey will be lending her vocals to Disney’s upcoming live-action Sleeping Beauty spin-off, Maleficent, covering the most popular song from the 1959 animated classic, “Once Upon A Dream”.

Angelina Jolie (who will play the titular villainess herself), said she personally wanted Lana Del Rey to sing the movie’s lead single.

Fans need not wait too long, as the song is set to be released TONIGHT after the Grammy Awards. Disney also has a special sneak peek of the movie lined up for Grammy viewers. We’ll have the song and music video up as soon as they are released, so keep checking back!

“Once Upon A Dream” isn’t the kind of song we’d usually hear Del Rey sing. She is known for her sultry, dark and rather melancholy style. We can’t wait to hear the twist she puts on the well loved song!
