Ah, DreamWorks. You may be laying off hundreds of employees, yet you still make sequels of popular movies, throw in a bunch of A-list actors, a shaky plot, and hope for the best.
What a brilliant plan. (I hope that you are noting my intense sarcasm here.)
Now, Kung Fu Panda has officially become one of those franchises that should have ended after the very first one, along with Shrek and Madagascar, which were also produced by DreamWorks.
So now three more actors have joined the voice cast for Kung Fu Panda 3. Brian Cranston, Rebel Wilson, and Mads Mikkelson are joining Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogan, along the other original voice actors for the long-continuing franchise, the next installment to be released on December 23, 2015.
Brian Cranston has lent his voice before to The Simpsons, The Cleveland Show, and as Vitaly in Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted. Rebel Wilson voiced Raz in Ice Age: Continental Drift. Mads Mikkelson is the only actor unexperienced in the world of voice acting, but he has acted in Casino Royale and Clash of the Titans.
No hint at the plot or these character’s details have been released, but DreamWorks has said that these characters will, “follow Po, the chosen one, as he continues on his journey mastering the art of Kung Fu … and noodle slurping.”
Awesome.
This movie will be the first film that DreamWorks has co-produced with it’s China-based Oriental DreamWorks.
