Comic Con is the gift that keeps on giving! Along with a wave of news and trailers, Cartoon Network used the massive fan event to finally announce the air date of the hour-long series finale of Adventure Time!

Adventure Time fans have been left wondering about the final episode for the past several months, as the last season has been trickling out a few episodes at a time ever since September of last year. The last 12 batches of episodes have been released in three batches of four, (as well as a one-shot Minecraft special airing last week) with no word on the long-awaited series finale until now!

Adventure Time: The Ultimate Adventure, will finally hit our screens on September 3rd! Cartoon Network has released a preview clip for the special, as well as a trailer looking back at the many adventures that Finn and Jake have had over the course of the show’s long run.

In addition to the news about the finale, Cartoon Network also announced that they will be releasing a massive DVD set containing the final three seasons of the show, just one day after the finale airs, on September 4th!
