I loved this movie, though I didn’t really care for the comet storyline–I would have liked it more if it was just a body swap story. I ended up rating it a four, too. One fun fact, since Chelsea at least is a music fan, the same performer did both the Japanese and English versions of the theme, which is pretty impressive. I found the theme in both languages incredibly catchy and the translation well done.

I did notice that! I really liked the soundtrack. I didn’t talk about it as much as I wanted to in the episode but it was so well done.

Fantastic episode! Loved to hear y’all talk about an anime film, especially that is such a masterpiece. Since yous guys enjoyed it so much, and since you mentioned you haven’t seen too many anime films not from Miyazaki or Ghibli, may I suggest A Silent Voice? It came out around the same time as Your Name, so despite it being another masterpiece, it kind of got overshadowed by Your Name, in fact, I actually liked A Silent Voice better. It was simply amazing movie centering around the bullying of a deaf girl and then the eventual attempt of reconciliation of the bully toward the girl. It’s beautiful and heartwarming and deals with topics like depression, fitting in and being different, bullying and even suicide in a very excellently. So yeah, it sounds like kind of a downer, but it’s actually fantastic. Plus, the character of Shoko is actually voiced by a deaf actress in the English version. So that’s just a suggestion! In fact, I may just have to become a Patron just so I can command you lovely ladies to watch it! 😛

A Silent Voice is amazing! I think it is a bit more challenging to non-anime fans than Your Name but it is so good

I know you already reviewed Boy and the Beast, but I think you’d like
    Mamoru Hosoda’s other films:
    • The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
    • Summer Wars
    • Wolf Children
