Gravity Falls: Six Strange Tales consists of six episodes from the hit Disney Channel TV show Gravity Falls. But with just six episodes, is it worth the buy?
In this animated adventure comedy riddled with mystery, twin brother and sister Dipper and Mabel are sent to spend their summer vacation with their great uncle. Upon arrival, their great uncle, also known as Grunkle Stan, enlists the siblings’ help in running The Mystery Shack, a fun tourist trap he owns that overcharges unsuspecting customers. While Dipper has a hard time getting used to his new surroundings, Mabel’s upbeat optimism comes in handy in her quest to find true love. When Dipper stumbles upon an elusive book, he discovers that it is the key to unlocking the town’s mysterious secrets, and the brother and sister duo soon realize they must rely on one another to navigate the unfamiliar place.
Episodes include:
1 – “Tourist Trapped”
2 – “The Legend of the Gobblewonker”
3 – “Headhunters”
4 – “The Hand That Rocks the Mabel”
5 – “The Inconveniencing”
6 – “Dipper vs. Manliness”

I really didn’t know what to expect from Gravity Falls. I had never heard of the show, and really wasn’t expecting much from a Disney cartoon series. But boy was I wrong. It took after the blueprint of Adventure Time and Regular Show with quirky characters and humor, but also showed the old-school charm of Scooby-Doo. The storytelling and writing draw you in and make it seem like you are apart of the action.
Unfortunately the DVD contains only 6 episodes of the show. I feel if you’re going to release a DVD, you need to include more than just the 129 minutes this gives you. I feel a lot of people nowadays want at least a full season to enjoy. However, the Gravity Falls: Six Strange Tales DVD does include a poster as well as the Mystery Journal #3, which is an awesome piece to follow along with the story.
