In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, Baobab Studios has released a new CGI animated short film, Crow: The Legend, now available for streaming online for free.The film stars an impressive voice cast, starring John Legend, Oprah Winfrey, Constance Wu, Diego Luna, Liza Koshy and others. Inspired by Native American legend and the Lenape myth of the Rainbow Crow, the film tells the tale of Crow, the most magnificent creature of the forest, who chooses to make the ultimate sacrifice for his friends. The tale of sacrifice and community also features Randy Edmonds, Kiowa-Caddo tribal elder and founder of the National Urban Indian Council as Narrator and Sarah Eagle Heart, CEO of Native Americans in Philanthropy, as Luna.
The film has been directed by Eric Darnell, known for directing the Madagascar franchise, and currently the chief creative officer of Baobab Studios.
Featuring a unique, storybook-inspired animation style, the film is soft, warm and splendid to look at. Below are some beautiful concept art images from the film:
