The Angry Birds will launch onto the big screen once again on September 20, 2019 with The Angry Birds Movie 2, which features a recently announced, star-studded cast.
The Angry Birds Movie, which debuted in 2016, spotlighted main character Red, who was voiced by Jason Sudeikis. Josh Gad starred as Chuck, Danny McBride as Bomb, Peter Dinklage as Mighty Eagle, and Bill Hader as Leonard. All of these actors will reprise their roles in the video game-based sequel.
Several new names are joining the original lineup, including Disney Channel actress Dove Cameron, who recently starred on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Sterling K. Brown of This Is Us, Rachel Bloom of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Silicon Valley’s Zach Woods, Lil Rey Howery of The Carmichael Show and Get Out, How To Be a Latin Lover’s Eugenio Derbez, 7-year-old Brooklynn Prince of The Florida Project, and Awkwafina, who will star in the upcoming films Ocean’s 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. Saturday Night Live star Leslie Jones will provide the villain’s voice.
While the first film was directed by Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly, The Angry Birds Movie 2 will be directed by Thurop Van Orman and co-directed by John Rice.
