Highlighting their upcoming slate of movies, Disney at this year’s CinemaCon announced the official title for the eagerly anticipated Wreck-It Ralph sequel.

The sequel will be called Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2.

A logo was also revealed, which cleverly pays homage not only to the original film’s logo but also incorporates an app icon-like design, complete with a red notification:

Ralph Breaks the Internet will also feature a returning cast, including John C. Reilly (Ralph), Sarah Silverman (Vanellope), Jane Lynch (Sergeant Calhoun) and Jack McBrayer (Fix-It Felix). New cast members include Jodi Benson (Ariel in The Little Mermaid, Barbie in Toy Story 3), and James Corden. Alan Tudyk will also be returning in an as-of-yet unknown role. The sequel will take Ralph and the gang through the arcade’s Wi-Fi router into the vast Internet space, where Ralph somehow manages to wreak even more havoc. Director Rich Moore has also promised a slew of new characters and cameos (including, we hope, Mario).

Rich Moore stated, “To take these characters we love and have them enter the enormous world of  the internet has given us so much to explore.”

“Our production team has been hard at work designing a world that takes something we all think we know – the Internet – but shows it in a whole new, imaginative way.”

Wreck-It Ralph was released in November of 2012 and was the highest grossing opening for Walt Disney Animation Studios at the time. Since then, it has gone on to become one of Disney’s most beloved modern classics, and remains insanely clever and fresh to this day.

The sequel is being helmed by original director Rich Moore who will be joined by the screenwriter of the original film, Phil Johnston, with producer Clark Spencer. It is scheduled for release on March 9, 2018.

Are you looking forward to Ralph Breaks the Internet? What do you think about the new title?
