Johnny Depp, whose previous voice roles include Corpse Bride and Rango, will join the cast of James McAvoy and Emily Blunt, who are set to reprise their roles from the first film.

Entitled Sherlock Gnomes, the sequel to the 2011 sleeper hit will revolve around a number of gnomes’ disappearance in London and the famous detective, Sherlock Gnomes, trying to solve the mystery.

The film is set to be directed by John Stevenson (Kung Fu Panda). It will be produced by Elton John’s Rocket Pictures and released by Paramount Animation and MGM on January 12, 2018.
