First Full Trailer for Blue Sky’s ‘The Peanuts Movie’ Arrives Online

peanuts_black_logo

You saw the teasers. You saw the posters (a lot of them). Now, we finally have what fans of the Peanuts franchise have craved for so long.

Blue Sky Studios released the first full trailer for The Peanuts Movie, which gives us our most in-depth look at the plot and characters.

Watch the trailer here:

Judging from its trailer, the film looks to be exactly as filmmakers promised: an updated version of the world of Peanuts for a new generation that tips the hat to its source materiel. The major storyline of the film (Charlie Brown desire to be more than what people see him as) is definitely a theme that runs throughout the entire span of the original strips and TV specials, only here it is ballooned into what will be an overall character arc for Charlie. It also helps that the expanded cast of the film (a few of whom have never made any other appearances outside the comic strips) are utilized in a way that adds new character dynamics to the film (like the Little Red-Haired Girl, for example).

While reactions are certain to be varied from fans all across the spectrum, the trailer gives us a good indicator of what we should expect this fall.

Directed by Steve Martino from a screenplay by Craig Schulz, Brian Schulz, and Cornelius Uliano, the film features a voice cast that includes Noah Schnapp (Charlie Brown), Hadley Belle Miller (Lucy van Pelt), AJ Teece (Pig-Pen), Noah Johnston (Schroeder), Venus Schultheis (Peppermint Patty), Alexander Garfin (Linus van Pelt), Francesca Capaldi (Little Red-Haired Girl), Mar Mar (Franklin), Mariel Sheets (Sally Brown), and Rebecca Bloom (Marcie). Rounding out the cast are William Alexander Wunsch (Shermy), Anastasia Bredikhina (Patty), and Madisyn Shipman as Violet. Archival recordings of Bill Melendez will be used for the voices of Snoopy and Woodstock.

Here is the film’s official synopsis:

Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the beloved ‘Peanuts’ gang make their big-screen debut, like they’ve never been seen before, in state of the art 3D animation. Snoopy, the world’s most lovable beagle – and flying ace – embarks upon his greatest mission as he takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis The Red Baron, while his best pal, Charlie Brown, begins his own epic quest. From the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of the ICE AGE films, THE PEANUTS MOVIE will prove that every underdog has his day.

The Peanuts Movie arrives in theaters on November 6, 2015.

What do you think? Now that the full trailer is out, are you looking forward to The Peanuts Movie?
