Disney Reveals Official ‘Moana’ & ‘Zootopia’ Logos at CinemaCon

At the 2015 CinemaCon, Disney revealed its upcoming slate of live-action and animated films, which also gave us our first official look at the new Zootopia and Moana logos. The above image (courtesy of ComicBook.com) shows that the title treatments for Zootopia and Moana have been updated.

Zootopia Logo

The old Zootopia logo was an ombré red and orange with subtle diagonal stripes. The new logo has an entirely new color scheme of green and teal ombré. The font has also changed as well. You can see the change below:

Moana Logo

While there were fan-made logos for Moana popping up all over the Internet for a while, Disney never released an official logo until CinemaCon (despite the fake logo and the new official logo’s striking similarities). The Moana logo has a monotone tan coloring. The font is a handwritten style script, with the “o” taking on the swirl motif we’ve seen in the concept art. This logo has a similar feel to the Brave logo.

While the release of these logos is not a huge update, it’s an update nonetheless! Personally, I love the new Zootopia logo, as it feels fresh and modern (and those colors are simply divine!). That being said, the old logo wasn’t bad in the first place either. And finally getting an official Moana logo is great as well.

Zootopia will be released in theaters on March 4, 2016. Moana hits theaters November 23, 2016.

[UPDATE 4/27/15 10:45PM PST] A high quality version of the French Zootopia logo was revealed by David Gilson, an illustrator who has done some work for Disney. It’s nearly the same as the US logo, except for swapping the “a” with an “e” for Zootopie. Check it out below.
