Pencil Test Studios have released a video this week on their YouTube channel, giving us a peek into the making of their new claymation point-and-click video game Armikrog.
The video entitled “Giving Life to Tommynaut” features Pencil Test Studio’s founders Mike Dietz and Ed Schofield. They describe how the main character, Tommynaut, came about when they called up their ‘pal’ Doug TenNapel, the creature of Earthworm Jim, for ideas for their next project. They go on to explain how Tommynaut’s blind alien dog Beak-Beak, who is voiced by legendary voice actor Rob Paulsen, allows players to switch between the two characters.
The video also includes pencil tests and the armature designs of Tommynuat, all helping to bring the character to life with the use of stop-motion animation. Armikrog will be available on platforms OS X, Microsoft Windows, Linux, Wii U, and PlayStation 4 and is set to be released this year. Check out the video below:
