As Fall inches closer, we’re getting more information about the new Star Wars animated series Star Wars Rebels, including who the chief baddies are going to be. A few months ago, we got a glimpse of the main baddie the Inquisitor and today we get the scoop about his right-hand man Agent Kallus, the “rebel hunter” who will be voiced by David Oyelowo.
Agent Kallus is described by executive producer Dave Filoni as an evil agent for the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB), which is can be compared to a blend of the FBI and military police. His job is to make sure that everyone stays loyal to the empire or he’ll cut them out. His weapon of choice is a bit unconvential as it’s a modified version of Zeb’s honor guard staff. You can watch a video of the rebel hunter in action, as well as some behind-the-scenes clips, here.
His design is purposely evocative of the 70s, which is a feeling so prominent in A New Hope. Kallus sports some impressive mutton chops and there’s no doubt that eager cosplayers will be trying to be the first to portray Kallus at the San Diego Comic-Con later this month.
Star Wars Rebels premieres this Fall on Disney XD.
