Later this year, DreamWorks Animation is releasing its 30th animated feature Home. The character designs were leaked last year during a press event, but now DreamWorks has finally released a first official look at the main characters of the alien Oh and the little girl Tip.

When I first saw this banner it didn’t really catch my attention, the character designs look pretty basic to me and not groundbreaking in any way. But after looking at it for a while I started to like it a little more than before and now I’m actually pretty excited to see what kind of adventure Tip and Oh will explore. After seeing the short Almost Home, I’m really excited to see these characters in action and I really want to hear their voices! I know Jim Parson is going to do a wonderful job as Oh… but Rihanna?

Tip-HOME

”The intergalactic adventure revolves around an overly optimistic (yet inept) alien race called the Boov, who invade Earth in an attempt to escape their mortal enemy, hoping to make this hiding spot their new home. But one resourceful girl named Tip (Rihanna) escapes the Boov’s relocation efforts and teams up with a banished Boov named Oh (Jim Parsons) to save the race after he accidentally clues the bad guys into the Boov’s whereabouts.”

Home is based on the bestselling book The True Meaning of Smekday by Adam Rex and will be directed by Tim Johnson who also directed Over the Hedge for DreamWorks.

DreamWorks’ Home releases in theatres November 26, 2014.

What do you think of the character designs for DreamWorks’ ‘Home’? Love it or hate it?
