A lot of exciting information about DreamWorks’ upcoming animated feature How to Train Your Dragon 2 released this week. We have a date for the release of the final trailer, new stills and a featurette featuring director Dean DeBlois.
New Clips & Interview
Let’s start with the first story of the week: a Spanish entertainment website released a new How to Train Your Dragon 2 featurette with a few new clips from the movie in addition to an interview with the film’s director Dean DeBlois. Check it out below:
Second story of the day: a few new stills of the movie released on the official How to Train Your Dragon website, they feature some of the old dragon riders like Snotlout and Fishlegs, but also some new characters including Drago and Eret. DreamWorks also announced that Game of Thrones‘ Kit Harington will voice Eret (character in first still).
Final Trailer Date
The last story of the day is probably the most exciting because DreamWorks Animation just announced that the final trailer of the movie will release this Friday in theatres in front of Blue Sky’s Rio 2. Yesterday DreamWorks announced that the trailer will also release this Thursday on iTunes Trailers.
It’s been five years since Hiccup and Toothless successfully united dragons and vikings on the island of Berk. While Astrid, Snotlout and the rest of the gang are challenging each other to dragon races (the island’s new favorite contact sport), the now inseparable pair journey through the skies, charting unmapped territories and exploring new worlds. When one of their adventures leads to the discovery of a secret ice cave that is home to hundreds of new wild dragons and the mysterious Dragon Rider, the two friends find themselves at the center of a battle to protect the peace. Now, Hiccup and Toothless must unite to stand up for what they believe while recognizing that only together do they have the power to change the future of both men and dragons.
How to Train Your Dragon 2 will be released on June 13, 2014.
