41st Annual Annie Awards Nominations Are in

41st Annual Annie Awards logo

Awards season is upon us and the nominations are in for animation industry’s prestigious awards show the Annie Awards.

Pixar’s Monsters University and Disney’s Frozen received the most nominations with ten each. This also ties with five other past films for the 6th most nominations ever received. Disney’s Get A Horse! got a nod, but yet again, Pixar’s The Blue Umbrella got snubbed much like it did for the Oscars.

One of the best part of the Annie Awards is the individual achievement categories. While animation is a collective work, there still are a folks who put a lot of hard work into making animated films yet hardly get recognized in the bigger shows like the Oscars. I’m really excited to see who comes out victorious in these 24 individual categories that cover various animation aspects from voice acting and screenwriting to animation and directing.

Check out the full list of nominations below. The 41st Annual Annie Awards will air February 1, 2014 at the UCLA Royce Hall in Los Angeles.

Did any of the nominations surprise you? Did you favorites make the list?
