‘Monsters University’ Already on Walmart Shelves

Walmart is already selling Monsters University, sort of.

Imagine my surprise when perusing through the store’s Blu-ray selection last week to see MU in prominence despite the fact that it just released theatrically. It’s not all what it seems, though.

It turns out that Walmart (and other stores, possibly) is allowing customers to purchase a hardcopy MU Blu-ray case with no discs inside it. This secures the customer a pre-order of the film that will be mailed to them in the fall. Included inside the otherwise empty case is a ticket to see MU or any Disney movie in theaters.

Monsters University will make its Blu-ray/DVD debut on October 29. Pre-orders are now available on Amazon (remember to use The Rotoscopers’ affiliate link!).
