‘Art of Monsters University’ Gets Exciting New Cover

Animated movies take a long time to make and we rarely get any behind the scenes look or a lot of content until they’re released on home video. Luckily, the “Art of _____” books are now a standard thing. They’re always a great read and they feature stunning concept art, story boards, color scripts, etc. You can even see the original character designs and how they evolved to what you see on the screen.

The Pixar Daily made us Pixar nerds proud by noticing that the Art of Monsters University had gotten a beautiful new cover on its Amazon pre-order page only moments after it was uploaded. The cover features a simple yet beautiful concept sketch of the University campus and we see Mike Wazowski and Sulley walking around.

The book will have a preface by John Lasseter and Pete Docter (director of the original Monsters, Inc) and a foreword by Don Scanlon, director of Monsters University. It will be written by Karen Paik, who has also written The Art of Ratatouille and the extraordinary To Infinity and Beyond!: The Story of Pixar Animation Studios so this one will be a fantastic read for sure.
