Ever wonder how a stop-motion character model is made? Well, a lot more goes into it than just sticking some clay together! LAIKA/house released a short time lapse video called “ParaNorman Behind the Scenes – Making Norman” that shows the process of creating a model of Norman, the title character from its upcoming release ParaNorman.
The video is short, yet incredibly engaging. You are able to see how Norman evolves from a simple sketch to a full-fledged moving character. It’s fascinating seeing the skeleton and innards of Norman, which soon become covered by “clay” through an injection molding process. Also, don’t forget all the painstaking details that goes into the on hand-sewn clothing!
