Yesterday, Disney released the first teaser image for the upcoming, Disney XD animated follow-up to 2014’s Big Hero 6. The company also announced the voice cast, which includes almost all of the original voice actors, INCLUDING Stan Lee as Fred’s dad!
Returning for the series will be Ryan Potter as Hiro Hamada, Scott Adsit as Baymax, Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass, Jamie Chung as GoGo Tomago, Genesis Rodriguez as Honey Lemon, Alan Tudyk as Alistair Krei, David Shaughnessy as Heathcliff, and of course, Stan Lee as Fred’s dad.
Khary Payton will be stepping in to replace Damon Wayans Jr. as Wasabi, and Brooks Wheelan will be taking over for T.J. Miller as Fred.
Some of the recurring and guest cast that have been announced include Jenifer Lewis as Professor Granville, Andrew Scott as Obake, Andy Richter as Globby, Diedrich Bader as Bluff Dunder, Susan Sullivan as Fred’s mother, Sean Giambrone as Richardson Mole, John Ross Bowie as Mel, and Haley Tju as Karmi.
This new series will pick up immediately after the events of the film and will continue to follow the adventures of Hiro and Baymax, along with their friends: Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Go Go, and Fred. The show follows the team as they continue to protect San Fransokyo as the legendary superhero team Big Hero 6 and in their day-to-day lives as students at the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology.
Big Hero 6 is set to debut in 2017 and is being developed by Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley, creators of the hugely popular Disney Channel series Kim Possible.
