Second Trailer for ‘Kubo and the Two Strings’ Released

Kubo-trailer-2

LAIKA studios (Coraline, ParaNorman, The Boxtrolls) has released another trailer for their highly anticipated fourth animated film Kubo and the Two Strings.

The story follows kindhearted Kubo (voiced by Art Parkinson of Game of Thrones), who loves telling stories, as his relatively quiet existence is shattered when he accidentally summons a vengeful spirit from his past. Now, on the run, Kubo joins forces with Monkey (Charlize Theron) and Beetle (Matthew McConaughey), setting out on a thrilling quest to save his family and solve the mystery of his fallen father, a great samurai warrior. With the help of a magical instrument – a shamisen – Kubo must battle gods and monsters to unlock the secret of his legacy, reunite his family and fulfill his heroic destiny.

The teaser trailer and first full trailer that were previously released allowed us to be in awe of the beauty of this unique stop-motion movie. This second trailer, however, is certainly something special. There is a more detailed reveal of the plot, more scenes of action and adventure, a little humor, and so much magic and mystery. We’ve even got more of an introduction to Kubo and his companions Monkey and Beetle.

It is clear from just these trailers that LAIKA have achieved great heights with their latest feature and it’s hard to imagine where they could go from here. Focus Features releases Kubo and the Two Strings on 19 August 2016.

What do you think of the second trailer? Are you excited for Kubo and the Two Strings?
