Laika released the international trailer of its upcoming stop-motion animated feature, ParaNorman, in an exclusive to Yahoo UK. The trailer features new footage, scenes and characters that were absent from the tamer US trailer.
This trailer revealed the darker aspects of the film, focusing more on the ghosts and ghouls than with his Norman and his family. We see more of Norman’s chubby pal Neil and a highlight of the trailer was a clip where Neil gets caught freeze framing his mom’s workout videos while stuffing his face. We see more of the ghosts, but the evil and malicious ghosts get a lot more screentime this time around.
Overall, this trailer combined with the US trailer makes me very excited to see ParaNorman right before ghouling season when it is released in US and UK theatres on August 17 and September 14, respectively.
It seems the foreign trailers recently have been more intriguing, exciting and darker than their US counterparts (for example, the Japanese trailer for Pixar’s Brave). What are your thoughts on ParaNorman?
