Voltron-Legendary-Defender-Season-4

In the first official Voltron: Legendary Defender season four trailer, the Paladins are back and ready to put on quite the show, both for Netflix audiences and the aliens who attend their coalition campaign events. Check it out below:

As seen in the trailer, Voltron has truly become a trusted guardian and revered icon throughout the universe. This is a far cry from its season one image as a rookie do-gooder, who many either didn’t know about or thought was a legend lost to time. The emergence of a Voltron coalition is certainly interesting, as it illustrates how the Paladins are pushing for allies more intensely than they did in season three. The message seems to be that they’ve done and will continue to do what they can but need the backing of other planets if they are to succeed in conquering the Galra Empire.

Though the coalition is forming, team Voltron seems to be falling apart all over again. It was revealed that Keith, the ever-impulsive new pilot of the Black Lion, stirs up a little trouble by making a decision that causes tension between him and the team. This tension appears to be pretty severe, as Keith is nowhere to be found in the opening shot of team Voltron on the castle’s bridge. Meanwhile, Prince Lotor, along with his four, Galra-hybrid generals, is still hard at work on secret plans of his own.

Though no hints were given in this trailer, a leaked season four teaser from a month or so ago apparently revealed that Matt, Pidge’s brother, is alive and well and in the fight. Other familiar faces were present in this trailer, however, such as Rolo and Nyma and the Blade of Marmora.

Season four of DreamWorks’ Voltron: Legendary Defender will consist of six episodes and premiere October 13 on Netflix.
