When a film is a success, movie studios want to keep riding the wave of that success by releasing a follow up film in the form of a sequel or prequel. After all, they’ve already invested a lot of time and money into the initial film in the creation of characters, world building, and visual development. It only makes sense to capitalize on that even more by piggybacking off all that hard work. Also, when the audience demands another, how can you say no?

However, there are some movies that should never have a prequel or sequel. This may be because they are considered sacred cows to the studio or, perhaps, the original was so bad that it just simply doesn’t warrant making another film.

So that brings us to today’s Daily Debate topic:

Which animated movie should never get a sequel or prequel?
