While it was previously rumored that DreamWorks Animation was looking for opportunities to adapt its 2013 hit film, The Croods, for the small screen, we hadn’t heard anything about the adaptation for a few years. The film was a huge hit for the studio after 2012’s Rise of the Guardians seriously underperformed at the box office and a sequel is already in development. Today, the studio revealed a title and a first look at the show.
The show will officially be titled Dawn of the Croods, and will join titles like Turbo: F.AS.T. and Dragons: Race to the Edge as the newest Netflix Original. We also got our first look at the new designs for the characters we already know and love from the animated feature.
Dawn of the Croods is an all-new 2D animated TV show that will start streaming on Netflix later this year, though no official release date is set. Not too long ago we also got our first look at The New Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show, which is yet another Netflix Original show based off an existing DreamWorks film that will start streaming this October. While not too many details about the show have been revealed, we hope to learn more soon.
DreamWorks’ Dawn of the Croods will start streaming on Netflix this December.
What do you think of this first look at Dawn of the Croods? Will you be watching the show when it starts streaming on Netflix?
