Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Studios have released a new trailer for the latest adventure featuring the most well-known residents of Bikini Bottom. This The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water trailer features a better look into the story, which puts a bit more light onto events that happened in the first trailer (possible light spoilers ahead).
Now of course I am speculating, but considering this is a family film, they do tend to spoil a bit of the story in the trailers. Then again, this is SpongeBob! It’s more for riding that wacky ride.
As you could see in the trailer, the Krabby Patty recipe was in fact, stolen! This explains the disintegration of our heroes’ beloved aquatic suburbia. But here is the thing that really intrigues me; In the first trailer, Pirate Antonio Banderas explains that in order for his plan to come to fruition, he needs the final page. Where is it? Locked in the Krusty Crab.
Could the secret formula of the Krabby Patty finally be revealed? Will our favorite sponge and pals be able to retrieve it to bring balance back to Bikini Bottom? Will it be explained how SpongeBob and company can survive out of water without drying out?
Only time will tell. Guess we’ll find all of these answers out when The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water hits theaters on February 6, 2015.
