Albert Brooks (Voice of Marlin) Is A Go for ‘Finding Nemo 2’

Finding-Nemo-2-Albert-Brooks-ReturningEverything seems to be slowly coming together for the production of Finding Nemo 2 as Deadline reports that Albert Brooks–the voice of Nemo’s dad, Marlin–has signed a “fat deal” to voice for the project.

The original director Andrew Stanton is also rumored to return to direct the sequel. Apparently Stanton was given the gig after his live-action debut, John Carter, tanked at the box office causing Disney to write off nearly $200 million.

The planned sequel to Pixar’s 2003 smash hit Finding Nemo has been rather polarizing in the Pixar and animation community: some are excited for it and can’t wait; while others wish Pixar would leave Nemo alone. Even Ellen Degeneres has been clamoring for a Finding Nemo sequel for years and has been all but officially confirmed to return as the voice of Dory.

It is exciting to see the original cast returning. It’s unsure if Alexander Gould, the voice of Nemo, will return, since it’s not known what Nemo’s role will be. The new film pick up where the first film left off, which would leave Gould voiceless. Or it could take place years in the future in which Gould might be in luck.

Finding Nemo 2 will swim into theaters in 2016.
