Check Out Rihanna’s Voice Acting in First Official Trailer for Alien Flick ‘Home’

DreamWorks just released the first full trailer for its new movie Home and, after you’ve seen this trailer, your opinion on this movie will probably change in a positive way.

A few months ago, DreamWorks released a promo short for the film called Almost Home that played in theatres front of Mr. Peabody & Sherman. And…most people didn’t like it. That short was one of the reasons why many people weren’t excited for Home.

However, this trailer changed my opinion about the film. There were a lot of things I liked and a lot of things I didn’t like. First off, I really like all the designs. The humans, aliens and, of course, the world, it looks fun, creative and new. The animation is like what we can expect from DreamWorks, spot on and it looks just as good as ever. I didn’t like the pacing of the trailer though, everything happens really fast and the trailer doesn’t really give us, as viewer, the time to relax and get a good look at the movie and plot, but since this movie won’t release until 2015 I guess that’s not that big of a deal because that will be the job of future trailers.

Also I take everything back I’ve said about Rihanna’s voice acting in previous articles. She actually pleasantly surprised me in this trailer. She actually kind of sounds like a 12-year-old kid in this trailer and she didn’t even sound like Rihanna. Yes, it would’ve been even better if an actual 12-year-old voiced Tip, but I guess Rihanna does the job well and is just fine.

”When Earth is taken over by the overly-confident Boov, an alien race in search of a new place to call home, all humans are promptly relocated, while all Boov get busy reorganizing the planet. But when one resourceful girl, Tip (Rihanna), manages to avoid capture, she finds herself the accidental accomplice of a banished Boov named Oh (Jim Parsons). The two fugitives realize there’s a lot more at stake than intergalactic relations as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime.”

DreamWorks’ Home is releasing March 27, 2015
