Sony Animation revealed some more details about its upcoming animated feature The Smurfs 3–it’s going to be entirely animated!
Sony announced that Smurfs 3 won’t feature live-action actors, but rather will be entirely animated, which is an exciting improvement. In the first and second film the smurfs visited big cities like New York and Paris where they met human characters and functioned in our world instead of a CG world. As someone who grew up with The Smurfs on TV, I never liked that the movies were set in a live-action world since their own world is big enough to explore. I’m glad this will happen in the third movie and for now this is the only reason why I’m a little excited.
As earlier announced, this film will tell the origins story of the little blue creators so hopefully Sony will stay true to that story and try to make it as similar as possible and possibly The Smurfs 3 will be the best film in this franchise.
The Smurfs 3 is set to release August 14, 2015
